Default Does anyone pull a tent trailer?

Does anyone on here pull a tent trailer? I am considering buying one for next season. Any pros or cons? I will be pulling it with a 2008 E-Glide with a stock 96" I want to spend a month or so on the road next year and I plan on using it as a home base in several different areas at Biker campgrounds. I did a similar trip this year but only stayed in hotels a few times because of the cost. For those that have or had one, is it worth it, or am I better off just staying in a hotel? I travel by myself, no passenger.

I had a time out. Pulls great. But takes a few minutes to set it up. Plus the Canvas stores with your luggage. Quick camp sets up in a few seconds and pulls great. Had a bunkhouse. Great room and storage but the absolute hardest pulling trailer I ever had. Don’t know if you thought about a tent? Aluma storage trailer was the absolute easiest pulling trailer I ever had.

I have not pulled a tent trailer, but I have pulled a Bushtec cargo trailer. It pulled great, but is easily 100 pounds lighter than a tent trailer. Is a tent trailer worth it? That's up to you and your intended destinations. If the destination is off the beaten path, probably so. Will you do this frequently enough to validate the purchase? $3k to $5k for a trailer can be a lot of hotel convenience. Can you rent or borrow a tent trailer to get the experience a test run? Be true to yourself and you will make the right decision.

Gook luck,
Rob

I'm looking at this for next year https://www.marlonproducts.com/produ...uctID=425-0001

The local Harley dealer in Regina has one selling for $1600+taxes (cdn). Looks identical to the Aluma mentioned earlier. I guess it must be sold by different names under a patent.

I looked at those. The Aluma looked to be a little beefier built? But there are a lot of those on the road and I have never seen anyone have a problem. I’ve also had painted fiberglass trailers and loved them. But the Aluma I didn’t care if my wife layed something on it.

I do a fair amount of motorcycle camping. Depending upon the destination, trip type, my mood, etc will influence how I pack for a trip. I may go light and just travel with my tour-pak and saddlebags packed with possibly adding some motorcycle specific luggage like a backseat bag and/or a tour-pak rack bag. This is important if I want to pack-up early every morning and I'm only staying at one particular place each night. I may pull my Bushtec Turbo-II trailer if I need to carry more "stuff" on a particular trip that I can't easily fit on my motorcycle. Things like a large cooler, Weber Go-Anywhere Charcoal Grill, folding camp table, etc.
If I'm staying at a particular place for a couple of days (music festival, motorcycle rally, etc) I may take my Aspen Sentry pop-up camper.
Maybe read through some of the threads in "Hacked, Conversions and Trailering".
