Anyways, maybe I've been lucky in that my warranty requests/repairs have only been electrical, body or recall related.
No worries man. Im glad your warranty experience has been pleasant. During my three years at a Harley dealership, I processed hundreds of warranty claims. Most were honored, but sometimes you'd get a weird issue......and many of these weird issues (oil leaks, belts, pulleys, drive train and cable related) were by guys who claimed they did their own maintenance. We would generally tell them that they missed their 1k, 2.5k, and 5k service (this was back during the one year warranty days) and that we had no way to tell who's been inside their primary and we wouldn't honor a warranty claim over it. I guess I need to be more specific. Doing your own work wont immediately void a warranty. It will however, jeopardize certain kinds of warranty claims.

The reason Harley can get away with denying claims they BELIEVE are are the fault of negligence or improper maintenance is because nobody is willing to spend the money to try and sue the MoCo. Corporations like H-D have far to much money and far to many lawyers to make any legal challenge worth it in the long run.

Maybe thats why they bleed us dry with the purchase price. You pay SO much to get into the club that you got nothing left to fight them when they do you dirty.

Harley is easily one of the best companies at nickel and diming their customers for every little thing.
