Default Brake light

I have a '14 SG. Testing the brake light I noticed when applying the front brake (lever on the right grip) the brake light does not come on. The pedal works fine. I'm thinking that it may have come unplugged. Has anyone else had this happen?? Where is the switch??
Thanks..

Have you done any recent work on your right controls? There is a small button on your controls behind your brake lever that performs like a dead man’s switch. Button out = brake light on. It’s a common mistake to not get this assembled right.

If your SG is like our Limiteds, It is a mechanical switch in the right hand control module. The control module communicates with the BCM on the CAN Buss and the BCM turns on the brake light.
Do you have any DTC's? I remember reading some have had them stick so you might try spraying some WD40 at the button if it's not moving.

Switch Button in middle of picture, lever pulled in

The little tip on the switch is more related to the light not going OFF when the lever is released. You have the opposite problem and some have reported that dirt collects in the hole that the switch plunger sticks through to make contact with the lever and that dirt gums up the plunger movement. It can't pop out to make the light come on. There is a thin rubber cover on the switch plunger so be careful when poking around it. Hopefully someone will recommend a cleaner or solvent you can spray in there to remove the gunk and free up the plunger.

Electrical contact cleaner or a silicone based wd40 will work just fine , remember to wash the entire area with soap and water after cleaning the switch .
