2004 Road King Avon Heated Grip Install question

Instructions show to slip the wires through the hole/opening in the bars. I don’t have a hole/opening in the bars. I have stock bars.

Anyone install Avon Heated Grips? How?

2 options: change your bars to 1 1/4" ( they have the holes in them ) or run the wires outside the bars you have ( assuming 1")

I’ve run internal bar wiring on several bikes over the years.

Just put the bar on a drill press and drill the hole. I typically drilled two holes side by side and then merge the holes together forming an oblong shape. Then fine tune it so there aren’t any burrs.

It makes it easier feeding wires through especially if wiring is coming from both sides of the bar.
