I've tried searching for this, so I apologize if I missed it: I'm taking a tour with my brother, who has the wired HD headset on his SGS. I'm looking for a bluetooth set (non HD) that will allow us to talk to each other. I'm on a Heritage, so nothing built into the bike.

Find a couple of Sena 20S on Amazon. You can get the refurbished much cheaper. Make sure to the mic base/boom mic come with it.

Choices:
you both add a CB to your bikes & your brother uses his bike's audio system
you add a headset to your phone & you call each other's phones when you need to talk.
you both get BT headsets & your brother gives up using his bike's radio system for the trip
you can both get FRS radios w/headsets for the trip & your brother gives up using his bike's radio system for the trip
you can both get GMRS radios w/headsets for more range, but you'll need to apply for licenses & your brother gives up using his bike's radio system for the trip
I have the non HD Sena 20s and the only function, I am aware of, that I do not get, is stereo. It still comes out monaural in both ears, so I am fine with that. I can to Siri, give voice nav commands, etc. I did install the WHIM.
Took me a bit to figure out the connection, but with the help of some here, all is good now. Most of my music, I listen over the bikes speakers anyway.
Hands down Cardo is the best bike to bike , passenger to rider. But if you want to use the wireless with the radio system SENA HD brand and WHIM. Not what some want to hear just the way it is. Non HD brand SENA with the WHIM sucks.
No stereo and they will not work with most of the system controls so you have to do it all on the head set. I screwed up big time buying the Non branded the first time .
But for bike to bike and rider to passenger my Old Q3 Cardo's are still better except they came from a time 4 hours was good battery life.
WHIM runs $300 and then a dealer flash Easy to install your self.
I installed my WHIM myself, dealer flashed it free. What exactly does not work between headset and bike? Be specific. As I mentioned, I do not have anything, that I have found, that I cannot work with the bikes controls, except stereo, which, with my hearing does not matter anyway. Modt headset speakers are such crap it isn't worth worrying about.
I cannot say anything about Cardo, but have heard they are prob the best bike to bike. Like I said, my Sena 20s does everything any headset is supposed to.
