Default Saddlebag protector bars.

I can’t seem to find a thread on weather to remove the bars or not

First of all, what bike are you talking about, and I suspect saddlebag guards? . Why do you ask that? Not a big deal to do it.

It’s a 2010 Electra glide. I see a lot of people have them removed. Not a big deal to do it. I was just wondering what the pros and cons are.

Pros might keep your saddlebag in place if the attachment pins back out, less potential damage on a drop over or fall, cons some don't like the look.

When you drop your bike in a stupid slow speed maneuver you will be very glad you had them on.

You will need to buy the underneath support bar to remove the rest of it. I am looking into the same thing.

You can remove the two horizontal bars, but will have 2 holes in the vertical section, they do have a set up you can buy https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...rds/p/90200787 that does the same.

I think I have 2 sets of the support bars from a 18 and a 20 if they will work.
I put bag guards on my bikes, I got Buffalo bars this time.
They look good IMO.

The ones I posted are for 2014 up, just so he knew what they looked like. For his bike he'll need 09 - 13 bars. Just for clarification.

I never really liked the ones that ran down the side of the bags. The ones that run just down the front will still look good and protect the bike in a tip or protect you in a crash. The evidence is out there. My recent crash 55-60 MPH the front engine guards and rear bag guard allowed me to get my leg out and sit on the bike as it was sliding . Difference I got up walked away with few bruises. With gear on only scratch was a tiny mark on the nose from glasses. Not one road rash mark any where. I get it we ride and **** happens you can not make your self bullet proof . Then again some of the things they design into these bikes work.
