Can I put up to 2013 tour pack on my 02? The box looks the same on top but the bottom looks different. Will the lids inter change. I see a good bottom from 2012 and a a complete box from 2011. I have a couple cracks from crash, one by the hinge going from top edge to the light bar. thinking if I have to paint it be better off switching to a good one.
It looks like to me 06-08 they switched to abs plastic instead of fiberglass and started calling it a tour pack instead of luggage box. the mounts look like they match up to the earlier ones with the option of moving it forward. I'm still not sure if those ones will fit but they are still available primed.
Why not look for the right one that fits your bike that's colour matched and save yourself the aggravation. Lots on the second hand market, like Ebay, and other places. In fact put a "wanted ad" up here in the forums
White is rare and even more so for the older bikes. The abs would be better too if its the same bolt pattern. I have to paint everything but the tank and side covers, so I'll be painting.
If I remember correctly, the older tour packs had a half moon bent round tube under the bottom and a flat metal plate inside to reinforce the bottom mount. Later packs bolted down to a flat plate under the bottom. There were some raised guides for the round tube on the bottom of the older packs.
Why not just try to fix the one you have, it is winter after all, doubt that you really are using it much in Michigan right now. Head one down to your local marine store and pick up $50 worth of repair products, if you screw it up, well whatever, just buy a new one in March...
Hoping someone has a answer for the question. I know I can patch it but don't think it will last, these hogs shake so much and that is a area that likes to get spider cracks in the old fiberglass anyway.
I looked it up in the HD parts and accessories book. It looks like it your docking hardware should bolt right on the 13 tour pack. They sell the tour packs to fit 97 to 13 touring bikes. The docking hardware from 97 to 08 and 09 to 13.

I beleave i would need new docking hardware for the 09 and13 pack. Do you have the part number for the docking for it to fit the later pack? Wouldn't mind getting better docking as the old tubes crack ar the holes.

The tour pack says it will fit between 97 to 13, so im guessing the bolt hole pattern in the tour packs were all the same ,for those years The docking hardware for 09 to 13 will not work on your bike. That is the year they changed the frame, so the box will work but newer hardware wont. If u want to get new docking hardware for your bike it would be from 97 to 08. Part # 53276-04A
