HD just like any other automobile manufacturer doesn't make any money on new vehicle sales. All the money is made in parts, accessories and service. This is just one of those angles. Won't be long until you hear about a Screamin' Eagle Hydraulic Clutch upgrade.
Thankfully, we all have different opinions, that's what makes life interesting. The more I think about it, the hydraulic clutch was
a prime candidate for a cost cutting option. Is there more than a possibility that Harley Davidson is struggling a bit? List prices are ever increasing so perhaps they needed to do this to keep up the gross. Right or wrong, opinions welcomed.

I agree. I'm somewhat amazed how many people don't see this as a bad thing. Many think it's great. I personally think it's pathetic.
I honestly can't figure out how many people think this is bad without riding the new clutch. I'm on my third bike with a hydraulic clutch, after having about five with a cable clutch. If the new cable clutch works like the pre-Rushmore cable clutch, this is an improvement. I won't miss the hydraulic clutch at all. It added no value, and offered less user-control compared to the previous version. I can't wait to ride one to confirm this.
