98 road king classic with different handlebars, i changed out bars several years ago i beleave they are heritage bars..
bottom line i need mirrors placed further out so they allow me to see more behind me. i find myself pulling elbow in to see better.
i have stock original 98 mirrors (square)...guess they are called short.
would the tall ones place them further out?
or would the newer model stock design with the taper be a better choice?
2003 stock H-D mirrors are not centered on the stems as are the older one. i put a set on my 2001 when the 2003s came out and have been pleased with them.
Just a thought, but I recently bought the HD Split Vision mirrors. You'll definitely get mixed reviews on them but I really like them. I don't think the stem angles are much different than the stock but you can angle the mirror portion out a lot farther away from the bike than the stock ones. This might help your problem plus you have the convex mirror which I think helps a lot. Maybe this will help.
I went with the HD extensions that raise the mirrors about 2". If you adjust the mirrors properly you will not see yourself in them. The adjustment should give mild overlapping of what you see in the mirrors.
