Most of the other brands are double triple the price of Reckless .

most brands like like they came from the same Chinese factory .

been debating one of these, I have a Memphis shades road warrior now .

This is my cold weather config with the lower fairings.

Never mind the fairing, that is one fine looking Road King!

Sort of my opinion, GreenMonster - at least from what I can tell on the videos and websites. I will keep reading and looking for awhile. Thanks.

I would also prefer to buy a shell and put all my own audio components .

Cool

I put a Reckless XL on a road king. Paint and wiring was junk. Had to fight with them to get a repaint and I recrimped all the wires myself. Terrible, never again.

scottbob99 - Curious about what you thought of the construction quality of just the unit itself. I am not going for a stereo unit so no wiring for me. It looks to me, from all the videos I have watched, the Reckless looks unfinished - the seal around the edges for example. The ends just stop. Most of H-D OEM stuff is excellent quality (expensive) and IF they made a batwing for the Heritage, I don't think it would look cheap. Probably cost too much for me but it would look good. The more I learn (thanks to all above by the way) and see videos, the Reckless might be my last choice. From your post, you probably agree?

It was a few years ago but i did have it apart several times to fix wiring. I seem to remember the fasteners didn't want to line up. The first paint job had several flaws, so they sent a new cover. That one was wrapped in bubble wrap before it was cured so it was covered in circles. They initially told me to buff it out. When I asked if they were paying me to fix their paint their response was "we don't do that". Not to mention I already had several hours in fixing all the wire crimps as the speakers would cut out when i went over a bump. Like I said, lesson learned.
Terrible company from my experience.

Thanks. I have time to think. My only other option seems to be Memphis Shades until Dead Center catches up.
