I run the kury one on my 19 only for the fact that it lowers the pedal. The pedal on this M8 over my previous bike caused me to lift my foot too high just to hit the brake pedal. I didn’t necessarily need it extended, just lowered.

On my 17 Limited I switched out to a SoftBrake pedal which extended, lowered and moved the actual pad outward a bit. The real trick for me was getting RID of the huge stock pedal/pad and going with the smaller Dyna-sized pedal and pad. It really frees up some footboard space. It looks much sleeker and custom. It is 100% as easy and fast to get on the brake.

When we built the custom RGL, I recovered the pedal from the 17 and used it again. BEST brake setup I’ve ever experienced.

Soft brake pedal on my `89 Softail and `19 EG Standard.

The oem brake pedal position on both bikes sucked, especially the old Softail.

Edit: the pedals are not only longer, they are much lower, in a position where you don't have to lift your foot way up just to get it on the pedal (the old Evo Softail brake pedal was in a ridiculous position).

Now I have room on my footboard for my....foot. They were not cheap, but I think they were worth the price.

I highly recommend the Soft Brake pedal.

How much further did it move the pedal forward/back depending on how you're looking at it.

The height of the stock pedal for me was unworkable.

I have the softbrake extended and 20 deg, (lowered) and still find it high

I cut the lowers to make it work

Is this the +1W version of the smaller pedal? Also do you have the boards moved out at all over stock? I'm trying to decide on the regular version of the smaller pedal or the +1W version.

I’m really sorry but I can’t tell you which exact model pedal it is. What I definitely can tell you: I changed my foot boards to the H-D extended ones (in swept wing shape) which moved them forward. I spoke to (Rick?) at SoftBrake and ended up buying the specific pedal configuration he recommended to go with those boards, PLUS the SoftBrake kit which bumps the boards out about 3/4”. Keep in mind this was for a bike with stock lower fairings, so there’s a limit to what you can do before the lowers become an issue.

What I liked so much about this change was a better knee angle with boards forward. Moving them outward gave me some extra foot clearance. The combo of moving the boards and going with the recommended pedal gave me excellent foot space and I don’t have to move my foot nearly as high or far to get on the brake.
