Default Quick connect docking question

Hey guys. Picked up a backrest and luggage rack for my ‘14 street glide. The backrest clips right in but luggage rack does not. The nylon fixed part that’s too small. Can i buy those clips separately? I’ll try to attach a pic of what I’m talking about.

The H-D brand mounting point black nylon mount points are elliptical so you can rotate them to get an exact fit. Try loosening the bolt that holds the nylon on and rotate it to see if it fits. Also try a little liquid soap or other mild lubricant you want it to be a tight fit.

When I sold my set up , the guy buying them could not get it to engage , loosening the mounting points , attaching the backrest etc , then tightening should do the trick , worked for us .

The nylon clip on the front of the backrest should be going onto a metal spacer on the mount not the round plastic part of the mount bracket. The front of the backrest should go on the shoulder of the front shocks and the rear clips go around the plastic bushing on the mount. Make sure the spacers and plastic bushings are in the right place. They can go on different ways depending on what accessory you trying to mount. And as an FYI my front nylon mounts do kind of need a firm push to fit over the metal bushing, that keeps them from rattling. Good luck with your project.

Take a look at the radial adjustment notch (3).
