Thanks for all the help. The forks are out, and really wasn't bad at all. It also gives me a chance to clean up a lot of stuff in the fairing and around the trees while the forks are getting rebuilt. It was DEFINITELY worth saving 2 hours of labor (so far, I still have to put them back in), which almost pays for the chrome lowers I am switching to. Unfortunately everything is at a standstill as I tested positive for Covid, so am quarantining for the recommended time. Thanks again for all of the help, I will update when it's all complete.

Hope you have a speedy recovery. The chrome lowers will look great.

Great way to learn your bike’s functional parts. It’s really not complicated. I would get rid of the air suspension junk and go with a cartridge and coil over shocks . You will thank me later.

First off to the OP ... Hope you have a speedy recovery from covid....

You seem to have your front forks sorted for rebuild and maintenance etc...
When you go to re install forks, the heights of both forks with regard axle install are important in my opinion... The video explains everything without me typing away...

I just finished a fairing bike , (2015 street glide)...... Front axle , (without wheel ), was very tight and would not go all the way through without bashing it through... Left axle in as far as it would go ,,,, Undid one side pinch bolts while holding the fork,,,,, Tweaked up and down until axle slides in with finger force,,,, Tighten up pinch bolts. (we are only talking 1-2 mm if you have the forks installed as per manual in the first place) .....

Good on you for tackling this on your own OP. Next thing you know, you'll be doing your own cam and oil pump swap outs...LOL.. Get good tools as you need them if you don't have them already. Torque wrenches and all the necessary socket/torque bits needed.

That reminds me, why in the world does the MOCO feel the need to change screw types so much on these bikes. I found so many places where the same type of screw, aside from the length would work in a couple of places....sure seems like a good way to cut costs from buying so many different hardware types...unless it's done on purpose.

Forks back in and bike back together. Everything was cleaned up nicely and forks slid all the way up with no hammer need (twice, since i forgot the fork stops the first time...). Im really glad I did it myself, other than the money, i got to clean up some places that haven't been touched in 20 years. Thanks for all of the help!!

Looks great and now you're a front end specialist to top things off.
