Front Fork Removal
First off to the OP ... Hope you have a speedy recovery from covid....
You seem to have your front forks sorted for rebuild and maintenance etc...
When you go to re install forks, the heights of both forks with regard axle install are important in my opinion... The video explains everything without me typing away...
I just finished a fairing bike , (2015 street glide)...... Front axle , (without wheel ), was very tight and would not go all the way through without bashing it through... Left axle in as far as it would go ,,,, Undid one side pinch bolts while holding the fork,,,,, Tweaked up and down until axle slides in with finger force,,,, Tighten up pinch bolts. (we are only talking 1-2 mm if you have the forks installed as per manual in the first place) .....
That reminds me, why in the world does the MOCO feel the need to change screw types so much on these bikes. I found so many places where the same type of screw, aside from the length would work in a couple of places....sure seems like a good way to cut costs from buying so many different hardware types...unless it's done on purpose.
