Installed fangs today. I dont actually hate them...
Ive had a few threads running about a wind buffeting issue on my 05 EG. The shaking was bad enough that I felt it was a safety issue as I was having problems focusing on vehicles more than 200 yards away. (Couldnt tell if they were accelerating or stopped). After many guys here basically said 'try all the windshield combos you want, but you will need fangs to stop that kind of shake' I finally gave in. Ive never liked the looks of fangs, Ive always felt they look like cheap chrome accessories with no apparent purpose. They just look too......metric......
I searched EBAY for a bit and found 3 different variations. 1) Genuine MOCO. (They look like pointy chrome tent stakes) 2) Bikers choice MOCO clone and 3) Another, less angular design. I opted for the third. Parts came today and after installation, I gotta say they just kind of blend in with the bike. Im pleasantly surprised. Dont know when Ill get out and actually try them out, as they are calling for snow again this
week.
I thought they looked awful too , until someone told me to do a test on wind turbulence coming up from around my tank , decided to give them a shot , gotta say , I'll never take them off my bike or any other I own . Hope you get out soon , I think you'll be quite surprised how well they work .
Any discomfort you have about the looks will be long forgotten when you go for that first ride and feel their impact. One of the best adds I did to my bike.
