^^^Yep^^^

Jus@JayStronghawk bought a @DK Custom oil filter relocation kit...can't wait to install. Spring's here - just holding off for steady dry/warm day.

I took a "coffee mate" creamer 32 ounce container and cut out half the bottom of the container so I can push it around the filter after I have loosened it up. Once it is in place I just spin the filter off and it drops into the bottle. very little mess, maybe a little drop here and there that needs to be wiped away....I found this idea from someone else either here or on another forum. I have a 08 ultra.

That technique is probably the best of both worlds....

I thought about doing that, but to drain & remove the filter like that, involves three things I do not like to do...

1) Kneeling on the ground to work on my bike..

2) Bending over while working on my bike..

3) Pushing my bagger up onto the lift...

After 30+ years of changing oil on my bikes outside, and often in parking lots.... Once I got a garage and a lift, I try to minimize the kneeling, bending, & pushing....

I've tried a few diff way and the hole pole method has worked best. The first time I changed the oil on my old fxst the filter was on too damn tight. I discovered the hole method tryin to turn that **** with a screw driver

i use a drill to drill 2 holes in the filter, one at 6 o'clock, and one at 12 o'clock. i tried poking it once, seems the force of hitting the punch made a bunch of oil droplets spatter me. don't get that with the drill.

and i put the orange, hd drip tray underneath. i get very little spillage.

I like the relocation method but I already moved my cooler out there. The bag method looks good too but I think I’ll try the drill-a-hole method next time.

Ive been using the cardboard, thats between the cans on a 30 pack of beer. Works great, trim it down and it slides in tight to the base and leave it long enough to hit a pan.
