Getting ideas, having some fun
I did andrews 26g gear cam upgrade, as preventive maintenance. On my 2000 ultra classic FI. 600 miles later, I now have a crank bearing [I think] Based on sound and feel. Going bad. I am in the process of taking motor out of bike. Cams are out. I turned the crank with a ratchet and am feeling a click click click. I am now weighing my options of what to do once I have it out. It was still running fine. I heard a strange noise like a heat shield rattle, but from inside the motor. I was a block away from home So I started investigating immediately. I have found 5 or 6 little pieces of metal in the cam chest about the size on table salt, 1 may have been a little bigger. I expect the case to be ok My goal is as before and that is to have a dependable running bike. I do have a power commander on it. So let the ideas flow. If you know the cost of your idea, please add it.
