Hi people quick question,, regarding brake light on my 07 roadking.
They not go!!! Front and rear, if i take front leave off and operate switch manually you can hear a clicking noise coming from fuse area, presume it a relay. But this make rear light turn off. If u operate rear pedal i dont hear any clicking noise at all. I havent investigated much more as had to go to work.
But any advise would be awesome, am i looking at a couple of issues?
Cheers in advance
You're right, when you pull the front lever you are probably hearing the Brake relay energize.
First check your bulb and make sure it is good. Does the R/Y at the tail light have 12V to ground when front lever is pulled?
Check the switch on the rear Brake master cylinder to see if it is working.
Look at the wiring under the rear fender for damage.

Morning , there are a couple things I can think of .
1 : Check the connector under the seat for damaged / broken wires or possibly corrosion in the connector . Get a can of electrical contact cleaner and give it a good cleaning .
2 : You may have bottomed out and damaged some wiring under the fender , shine a light under it and check for damage .
3 : Check the bulb ( burned out ) / socket and wiring the leads to it , if you have a volt meter , check it for current , there is a small panel with 3 connectors behind the tail light , could have damaged wiring or corrosion .

Did you replace the whole tail light with a new LED unit, what manufacturer and was it plug and play? LED will only work if polarity is correct, current will only flow one way through a LED. Any chance polarity is reversed? Maybe post a picture of the unit and the instructions.

Can i please ask what polarity means? No it wasnt a plug and play, but as explained before im sure problem wss already there but i knew new unit was on way i didnt investigate (i just thought it was bulb)
The bikes battery has 2 poles, Positive and Negative. A LED has two leads one is positive and the other negative. If you hook the LED up backwards, neg to pos and pos to neg it will block current flow and the light will not come on. Switch the wires around, Pos to pos and neg to neg and the LED will come on.

Silly question!!! Where is rear brake switch,, i cant find it, bike has very primative abs(police model) if this helps
The master cylinder for the rear brake is attached to the brake lever. The switch is just to the left , towards the engine, of the master cyl. #33 in the parts diagram.
