Does anyone know whether you can use a PC III on the 08's? I had heard somewhere that for some reason PC III's were not yet certified to use on the 2008 touring bikes. Is this true?
Along the same lines, does this mean we'll have to use SE race tuner or other device?
I would be curious what owners of 2008's are considering. I have always had great results with PC's. I am seriously thinking about buying a 2008 Road King Classic and I'm not sure whether I should change out the exhaust and air cleaner now.
you can use PCIII if you eliminate the O2 sensors. There are some other very good FI programmers out there also. You might look at Twin tech, easy install or Daytona that seems to be pulling ahead of the rest.
I understand the 02 sensor issue-I disconnected them on my 06 WG. I had heard there was another issue, but this is all hearsay. Just curious if anyone else had heard something.

NO you can not use any tuner for a 07 on a 08. It not only has a New ECM it has been relocated to under the seat. Dealer will have downloads for the new SE aircleaner and possibly a Screaming eagle race tuner will be out later, but no current aftermarket tuner will work on a 08.
My 08 goes in tomorrow for the 1000 mi check up. In addition, I'm having the Stage I done. They assured me a download would work until the 08 SERT's come out in Sept/Oct. I've have good success with the SERT and hope the D/L will hold me until they are released. I'm sure the PCIII's will come out soon also.

Have you seen one in person yet? Compared it visually to the '07?
I saw one the other day. Spent quite a bit of time looking at and scrutinizing it. I'm elated that I got an '07. The '08 definitely looks like a little sister but she ain't got quite the charm.
Yeah, give the folks at Dyno a few days and they'll have a model going out the door for the '08s.
I'd wait for the ThunderMax unit if I was adding a tuner.
Tmax wont be a option for a very long time IMO it took them a long time to perfect their current model, they would have to build a completely new unit for it to work the new ECM and the throttle by wire. Unlike their current model that will work on several years the 08 will only work on the 08 and maybe 09 .
OK I've got a question about this -- race tuners, air cleaners, and exhaust. I recently purchased an '07 RKClassic and it runs hot as hell when idling in traffic. The pipes are all blued and my inner thighs are blistered. I can understand buying chrome, and louder pipes, seats etc but I don't understand how everyone is happy about remapping their motor with the above stuff just to get their engine running right on a new bike! I also understand that HD has to do something about emissions. But don't you think that its HD's obligation to have that motor running efficently and cool? I mean didn't you just spend somewhere around $20 grand for a bike that can't idle for anylenght of time?
I've been told that I should be buying all of the above so that my motor will run cooler and more efficiently. Another $1,000 or 2. I wish I was on this forum before I bought because I still would have bought the bike but I would have tried to make a better deal.
