Looks like water. Do a smell test. Could be collecting in the swingarm. There is a drain hole in the swingarm make sure it isnt partially plugged.
Smell test and touch test was performed when I seen the leak, definitely not water and definitely some type of oil. It does almost smells like gear oil but then again, it is the garage so smells do kind of combine and linger for awhile. I was planning on checking the other fluid levels last night and working on pinpointing the leak but my living room TV decided to go out so I spent the evening swapping TVs around so I had something decent in the living room until I can get another TV. Planning on working on it tonight unless something else decides to break.
His Bark Box happened to come in the mail yesterday, I held it above the trash and questioned him thoroughly. He admitted to eating cat poop, drinking toilet water, playing with the noisiest squeak toy for the sole purpose of annoying us, purposefully getting in people laps and then silently farting and immediately jumping down, having an inappropriate relationship with a stuffed animal prior to being neutered, and a few other misdemeanors but he was very adamant that he did not pee next to the bike...
I also questioned the cat, but he just ignored me and went to sleep...
I think I will pass on the taste test incase the dog was lying.
Well it's not gonna kill ya either way. It'll come down to just how bad you want to know.
All kidding aside over 45 yrs as a mechanic this was done some.
Not often but I would be discussing (really arguing at times ) what was found under a customers vehicle.
I'd lean down run a finger through what ever was (I as a rule had idea about.it). and taste it.
They looked at me kinda wide eyed and most times said Well ok fix it
I have done that when flushing a coolant system. Remove the thermostat, hook up a hose and let it flow out the fill port for a bit then taste the water coming out until I couldn't taste coolant anymore.. Never done it with oil or any other liquid from a vehicle.
