Thanks for all the recommendations guys. I'll say I don't know jack about bikes, just like to ride. Not looking to do any "modifications", would just like to put a new set on without breaking the bank. I listened to a couple clips of the Bonebreakers and also the Tab setups and although I love the sound, they are higher in the price range and I don't want to put all that money just for a different sound. I'm leaning towards Cobra NH or I may stick with V&H since I loved how they sounded on the Heritage. I want to keep it at 400 or lower.
Another option to Keep it under $400, Buy a takeoff set of CVO slip ons and install a set of 2.5" Fullsac with the decatted head pipe you will get a good amount of sound and stay under your price point
It was time for me to look for new slip ons , shopped online comparing , trying to find something in stock as well. My Rush Big Louies with 3 in baffles that came with my 14 SG and a Fuel Moto 2-1-2 head pipe I put on were getting obnoxious and the 3 in baffles are detrimental to performance as well , sound doesn't = power. I was looking at some cheap ( under $225 ) 4.5 inch slip ons at Dennis Kirk and ordered some Khrome Werks performance baffles to put in them .I kept looking and finally settled on these S&S Grand National Slip on mufflers , they come with removable DB reducers 1.75 and 2.5 cores , reasonably priced at Fuel Moto ( $425 ) I went ahead and ordered a set .
Heres a couple of video's for what their worth , ones a twin cam ( top one ) , the other is a M8 , you can tell a difference .
If you have the time (snowed in) American Customs in CT. will remove the stock baffle and weld a new mounting plate into your stock mufflers. I had them do my "10 RK and ordered the medium baffle out of the three available. After using the bike for awhile and them being too loud I opted to go for the quite baffles which are just perfect for me. I cant imagine how loud the No. 3 baffles are as the number 2's were so loud and the number 1's I have are quite distinctive and give off a nice sound when under load.
Good luck in your quest. Saved a load of money this way.
I put the Grand Nationals on my 2020 Road Glide Limited, happy with how they sound, still getting used to them (and the Road Glide) my last bike 2015 Ultra Limited with the 103 Stage IV kit and the Vance and Hines stainless steel Pro Pipe on it really talked.
I have reinhart 4" muffs, with reinhart slimline head pipe (no cat). Ventilator heavy breather, and tune. Way louder than stock, nice and deep too...sounds awesome on my 114. Gonna do a cam soon, should be perfect then !!
