Default Identify electric socket Road King Police???

Hi again All,

So, there I was removing the police sprung solo saddle to fit the oem Road King dual saddle (wife wants to come on a trip). Whilst I was at it I thought I would remove the tank and try and re route the Quadlock iphone charger as it is not on a switched live, and I know from experience I will forget to unplug it and it will drain the battery.

So, I removed the tank and found this (see pics) male 2 hole plug on the right hand side of the frame just above the front cylinder. I can't find any reference to it on any wiring diagrams or in the manual. I'm hoping it's a switched live but it has dual red wires feeding into it so I'm not sure.

The bike is a 2016 Road King Police......I'm looking forward to finding out what the hell it is, all ideas gratefully received.

I've got an 09. It's probably for removed electrical equipment (lights, sirens, servo-controlled machine gun, etc.). There will be a supplemental service manual (mostly electrical) for your year of police bike that will have the answer. If you trace back the wires, I bet it lands on the pursuit lamps or siren switch.

Thanks for your reply. I traced it back and it runs down the main spine of the frame in the channel that takes all the wiring from the battery area to the headstock (underneath the tank) and then disappears amongst the rest if the wiring wrapped into part of the loom.

The plot thickens tho', because if found a similar 2 pin plug dangling down behind the rear cylinder, poking out from the battery compartment. I untangled it and it disappears into a bunch of wires that go into the left hand side panel where the main fuse etc. are. (see more pics) Would anyone know if this would have been connected to the other plug/socket I found?

I don't know how to access a supplemental service manual to find out any details???

If I'm looking at the pictures correctly, they are both female connectors so they can't plug into each other....

No they don't, there's about 2 to 3 feet of wiring missing between them!

Did you buy the bike new?

Remove the left side cover, you will see 2 connectors, one is for data connection for the dealer computer to hook up to, the other is a P&A connector. There normally will not be anything plugged into either connector.

The P&A connector (4 wires) is where you can plug in an accessory harness, be it from the factory or home made.

Just looked at wiring diagram, there is a connector with 2 pink wires for the Siren/PA Speaker.....

No, I'm the second owner. It was bought new from a dealer here in the UK, and never used as a police bike.

Don`t think you can w/o purchasing one ( p/n 99855-16BR )

In the meantime follow Dan`s advice and locate your accessory plug and use a test light to identify the function of each pin
As an example mine provides 1 for brake light 1 for key on & 2 for ign switch turned to ACC
HD sells a harness that plugs in and splits into 2 new plugs, gives lots of options

What color wires are on the other connector (not at the steering head).
