Antenna Relocation
You can either remove the whip and leave the mount on the trunk or take the mount with whip off. I took the whole thing off and filled the holes with vinyl plugs from Lowes.I also left the original antenna wire run in place but coiled it forward and tucked it under the seat in case I want to go back to it in the future. Be patientwith the detachable kit installation- the instructions make it more difficult than it needs to be. Good Luck!
I put my mast on the relocation bracket when my tour pack is off.
I put it on the tour pack when the tour pack is on the bike. Its that
simple! The mast has a allen screw that locks it to the treads. It is
under the rubber boot on mine, loosen it and the mast can be
from its mounting base.

I have an Ultra and when I take my tour pack off I just relocate the antenae wire to thelower mount (screws on) and shift the antenae to the lower mount.
When I put the tourpack back on I "re-run" the antenae wire to the tour pack and re-connect the speaker/CB/brake light connections.
It is not an Ultra (no speaker/CB/brake light wires) then you can have a short cable that screws on the lower antenae mount but stays with the tour pack when removed. Just move the antenae each time.
