Went out for a ride today on my 2011 FLHTC. When I got to an area safe to set the cruise the switch lit up, but no light on the speedo. Cruise would not set. Pulled codes and came up with U1016.
Personally, Im thinking its a short in the right side (throttle) wires.
Do you have some slack in the throttle cables? I took the slack between the two cables out of mine and my cruse stopped working. The roll off switch is in one of the cables and needs some slack to make it work correctly. loosed cables and it works fine now.
I started looking at the clutch switch. It will start in gear.
I pulled up my FP3 app and started looking at it for codes. I flashed a new tune recently and cruise was turned off in advanced setting. Flashed the tune back and cruise is working. 😡
Thank you for all the replies, and a reminder to myself always look at what changed before trying to diagnose the problem.
