Default Can I mismatch tires?

Sorry if this has been asked guys but I searched and couldn't find a direct answer. My front tire slipped pretty good on me today and I would've gone down (slow though, just taking off) so I looked it up and they're 07's...! They still have enough tread to get through the summer and I was gonna put a 21" up front anyway but I think I need to change it pretty quick. Anyway the p/o just changed the rear a few months ago with a factory tire but I want to get something with a bit more grip since I do still like to lay over in the curves and I've been caught in the rain twice now. So will it adversely effect the handling if I have the factory touring tire on the rear but a stickier one up front? Or do y'all still get good cornering performance with your touring tires? Thanks for any advice.

You can put different brands from and back without issue.

Some mismatches work, some don't. My experience.

The tire is from 2007? I have a 2007 RKC and changed the tires with the factory DUNLOP and it grips real well and i lean on the tires.

yes sir the number on the tow is 3507, 35th week of 2007. The tire looks good and it's not hard yet but I don't want to push it either. I'm looking at the Michelin commander 2s, I have the commander road 5 on my Hayabusa and love them. Thanks for the answers guys I just didn't want to create a handling issue.

Me personally,I wouldn’t trust a tire that was 15 years old. 7 years to max 10 years is the oldest I would run for any length of time.
