Default Windshield Street Glide

Hi everyone I find this the most helpful forum on the web. I recently bought a 2020 SG Special. First of all amazing bike I absolutely love it. I took her for a ride and my riding glasses were bouncing all over the place after 60mph. Not fun at all. I have done tons and tons of research on this topic as well as in this forum and obviously there are tons of opinions out there. I know this question has been asked since the beginning of time and I've read the threads but I want to get some fresh opinions on the best windshield to minimize this effect while keeping the shield as low as possible. I've researched Klock Werks, Memphis Shades, Freedom Shields, HD Windsplitter. Any strong opinions on these? Before I spend money on trying various shields I wanted to throw it out for some thoughts.

Freedom Shields, as long as you do not remove the plastic cover on the windshield you can exchange it for another one if the height is not correct for you. JES wind deflectors help also, or the fang ones Harley sells. Best to ya and congrads on your ride.

HD dealers often have a loaner program. Just something to consider as windshield choices can be subjective.

RCSCPA,

I recently visited a new HD showroom the other day and noticed they had several different windshield sizes to test before purchase. I would first look at height and then style/brand. I tried KW and settled on LRS (Long Ride Shields)...I still get a little wind in my face, but nothing like the OEM windshield (which is more for decoration than blocking wind). Also, take proper measurement before purchasing...again, the dealer has several different sizes to determine what might work best for you...good luck.

Congrats on the new scoot.
Before deciding on windscreen get a seat that you like.

The trick is understanding that the height of the windshield, combined with the recurve design is what works. Also, not all wind issues come from having the wrong windshield, lots of wind comes from below. As you said, there are many opinions on what works and you will have to experiment. What works for me is a windshield measured to be even with my nose (so I can see over it, even after I get tired and start slumping in the seat a bit). The windshield is curved at the top to send the air up higher that my head, and more importantly, over my passenger. That combined with DK Customs cooling deflector wings preventing much air from coming from below into my face.
Right now I recommend you check out Freedom Shields since you can order and try, as stated above. I base this recommendation on price currently as there are several fine after market makers like Long Ride Shields and Klockworks, not to mention HD having some recurves.
I have had a LRS 14" recurve shield for years with no issues (I am taller than most.). I had an HD Windsplitter for a long time, but found it was not all enough for me. Nothing wrong with that shield either.

Freedom Shields windshield with recurve and JES Customs fork fangs was the buffeting cure for me.

Big fan of the Klock Werks. Made a solid difference in the wind buffeting I was experiencing. I just ordered a Triple Tree Wind Deflector as well. Will let you know if it works.
