01 ultra transmission issues
Got the running issue fixed in Sherman Texas at back alley cycles, they did a good job and didn't break the bank and I've been riding and enjoying the bike. Now this morning start up, everything is normal and when I clicked down into 1st it made a helluva grinding noise. It was early, I had the stereo on and helmet on sp wasn't sure what the noise was, went to ease off clutch and helluva noise and not in gear. Shut it off clicked to neutral indicated hit the starter with clutch pulled and grinding again. Pushed back into driveway but had to have clutch pulled in and even so it was hard to move and you could hear something not happy in the transmission.
Rode yesterday and everything was fine no indication of a problem ever.

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like transmission needs to be inspected....
Let us know what they discover...

Called shop they said they could pull top cover and figure out pretty easily what's going on. I'm wondering if a snap ring broke and a gear moved on the shaft, had a 600cc sport bike do that and lemme tell ya 40mph and she locks up will get your attention.
