Thanks for allthe responce I'm not sure what base map my builder put in, I dont think the map was exact and I havent tryed to learn how things work on the Tmax, of coarse I can't even get a picture on my signature, this whole computer thing is somthing that is way over my head. Is there a Tmax dyno center realativly close to southern IN. It seems like my bikes been in the shop this year more than at home
I'm ready to buy a TMax, is the installation instructions available online? How about the maps?
I want to make sure there is a map close to what I have and one close to what I am going to do.
You can download the manual and the software from www.thunder-max.com. Once you install the software you can look at the maps. There are not alot of pipe/exhaust configs for our 2007's but according to the manual and the folks a zippers the pipes and headers are the least common denominator, what matters more are the displacement, injectors and throttle body settings. I have had mine on my 07 FLHX for about 1000 miles. I have Rush pipes with a 2" baffle and Big sucker, the bike runs well other than a slight ping off idle and a little low on the mpg side (~33mpg) but I am tweaking these items as we speak.
I copyed the manual off the internet and I'm reading as I type,As far as the softwareWhen I selected TB, then Displacement, then exhaust , the only options left had stock cams, flat tops, and stock heads, Would Zipper make a custom map if I called them or should I start with this one, I have ported heads w/ bigger valvesand 600 lift gear cams and cp domed piston
My dealings with Zipper's prove they have excellent customer service and support. This week many of the folks from Zipper's are at Sturgis, but I'm sure a phone call or e-mail to Zipper's will help get things sorted out.
i did exactly the same thing whateva did prior to reading his post and it works good for me also. hes right ya gotta give it time to learn, also one other plus with the thunder max is if an 02 sensor goes out it will fall back to the base map, my buddies 06 dynas 02 sensor went out and left him stranded if he would of had a thundermax atleast he could of ridden home and plugged up to his lap top and used there diagnosis page to find the problem, ive been really happy with my thundermax. this is in reply to dave the builder.
