All I can offer is that I found 8” height to be the magic number for my SG.
Good luck!

SWFLGuy, Thank you for sharing height. What is the manufacture's name? I am familiar with Memphis Shields, but the product is on backorder until mid-July.
Thank you.

Your height will have an impact on which height windshield you want. I’m 6’3” but long waisted so I sit tall in the saddle. I’m running an 8” Freedom Shields.

Good luck… it’s often a deep rabbit hole, and depends on several variables. Your dimensions are first, and whether or not you ride solo or two-up.

Most claim proper figment is where you are looking just over the top of the shield. I saw a good video posted somewhere demonstrating using a yardstick to get the right measurement.

Then there’s the style factor… every manufacturer has different looks and tints. Straight or flared?

Also to be taken into account is the material composition and thickness.

My recent experience with my Limited (not exactly comparable for your situation, but some relevant details nonetheless) started with the stock shield. It was a bit short by measurement, but worked OK for me. However, when the wife was on it was buffeting her head pretty good. I did a lot of evaluation with my hand, testing where the wind was coming from and how high it was relative to my helmet. In this case, the slipstream was just starting at the top of my helmet and I could feel it if I sat really tall in the saddle.

I figured I needed at least a couple of inches more push, so I ordered the Memphis Shades 8 1/2” tinted shield with the flare. It is the tallest they offer for my bike. I got it and was impressed - great quality, thick material, and it looks perfect on my bike.

I tested it out and felt where the slipstream was, and it definitely pushed it up two or three inches. However, the wife is tall and sits high in the saddle on the Limited, and it still hits just at the top of the helmet when we are running 75-80. I may have to try to find an alternative, but for now we won’t be riding long distances at high speed so it should suffice.

I’d suggest checking out Memphis Shades and Klockwerks - they are always very popular and my buddy is very happy with his KW on his ‘15 CVO RG.

Might catch some crap here... But I ran a flared windscreen off Amazon on my SG for a year and liked it quite a bit. It cost me something like $40 and it fit perfectly. Only thing I notice on that screen vs the Klockwerks on my RG is that the edges aren't weren't as "clean" on the Amazon one. Small price to pay for saving $190.

On my 11 ultra I went thru 3 different sizes till I found what was best, had to change one out after I changed seats, I now have a 14 ultra and the stock shield in the rain spits the water right in my face, so I ordered a freedom re-curve same height as stock only problem is 5 week wait.

Regarding unfinished edges, my first replacement windshield on a Street Glide was a 7” smoke direct for HD that’s just 2” taller than stock, and it was the same way. Edge was not finished worth a flip. I’d have run it if it worked for me, but that lack of finish gave me a slight case of gas for the price.
