Now this is weird. About two months ago I replaced my front tire. Avon Cobra. I started to loose air pressure so I checked it out. put it up on the jack and spun the tire looking for a nail or screw. Found nothing. Pulled the wheel and put it in a kiddy pool. Didn't find any leaks. Filled the tire and let it set for a few days. Now it's down to 10psi. WTF???
Start with changing the valve core.
over inflate it and water test it again.
if still nothing obvious take it in and have removed and checked. Its off the bike already and shouldnt cost much.
Those valve cores definitely cause those pesky leaks that are tough to pinpoint. Even dunking in water can still be a frustrating endeavor. Hopefully that core is the issue.
get a spray bottle put a little dawn dish soap in it and fill with water, shake so it is mixed up well. spray the entire wheel tire top to bottom, including valve stem inside and out, soak it . let it sit a couple of minutes and look for bubbles.
Just did that. No bubbles, anywhere.. Goofy as hell. Oh well. At least I'm not stuck on the road.. Gotta pull the wheel and take it in.. Can't mess around with a front tire. Thanks for the advice.
