The wind just seems to have carried them up and over the shifter.
Flip the heel shifter forward - that willCURE the problem:

I did the same thing this weekend. I was in a parking lot practicing slow speed turns inthe friction zone and didn't do something right. Not sure what I did wong, I was laid overbefore I knew it. Didn't hurt the bike and barely scratch the crash bars. But I so upset (angry) that I was shaking when I got home. I did find out that I can lift the bike if that happens. I haven't rode bikes in twenty years and I'm just trying to get comfortable with my RKC. I have been doing pretty good, but dang I guess I still need some work.

I also need to do some slow speed parking lot tight turns and circles, I haven't rode much in the last 22 yrs. I should take some kind of a training course.

Not trying to highjack thread, I also dropped my RK while practicing slow speed turns in the friction zone, slight damage to crash, saddle bags bars, but real damage was under the right side floor bd mount. I was suprised to see how badly it got scoffed, and pride didn't do so well either. Now I dropped it, that's out of way. as is the heel shifter.

This might be some inspiration. If you guys haven't seen one of these cop-bike competitions, you should. These guys are amazing. They have one every November in Baton Rouge, BTW. They have the maneuverability race and the slow race. One year, the slow-race winner took 3 min. to go 30', IIRC. If you think you can ride, try that sometime. I can't even come close.

BTW, the guy in the photo was in complete control on this slow turn.

Nope, it's frustration. It was reading about those guys that got me doing this in the first place. I'm sending for Ride like a Pro to help me or any other resource someone can recommend. As much as like to just ride, I find learning and practicing these low speed maneuvers a lot of fun. Except when I lay it over. I'm going to cut me some pieces ofhose to cover my guards.

By the way, I've looked and can't find a Police Rodeo near Oklahoma City. Maybe a road trip is in order.

Thanks for the great picture iclick

Sorry to hear about the drop Blackmouth...but thanks to iclick for the police rodeo photo. I looked up these things on the net to find one near me and found the following website with a bunch of them in all different parts of the US and Canada. Some of the links are for "workshops"; maybe that means they can teach you some of these moves. I don't mind watching these guys in a controlled environment; just not in my rearview.

Thanks for the posts guys.
Police rodeos...hmm, I'll have to check one out.
I'll bet they've got lots of good donuts there. [sm=drooldude.gif]

Well, I bought the shaft cover and put it on this evening.
Looks really nice.
Just as someone else posted here: it gives it a finished look.
That's definitely the cheapest HD part I've ever bought ($12.95).

Ride safe!
