That could be caused by an unsteady power supply.... bad battery, bad/loose battery connectors, specifically ground(s), etc, etc, etc...

It could also be an electrical connector with some corrosion causing intermittent contact.... the ECM connector, or any connector for a system that popped up with a lost communication code.

On many touring models, you need to move the ECM/connector to the side to replace the battery. That can put stress on the connector... Since you replaced the battey, I would start with the ECM connector. I would separate it, clean with a good electrical contact cleaner, put a dab of dielectric grease on it, and reconnect it...

Good luck with the diagnosis....

Make sure to check where the battery negative cable attaches to the bike....

I had a starting issue on one of my softails, checked the battery cables (at the battery) several times. Since the battery was getting old, I bought a new one... While I was installing it... I found that the bolt, where the batt negative cable grounds to the frame, was loose...!!

I felt like an idiot for not checking it... it's within 4" of the battery itself... I then load tested the old batt (which I should have done first!) and it still passed... could have gotten some more service out of it...

Of course I knew what I should have done all along, but I was lazy, and/or in a hurry....

Great advice from Hat , also , while your in there , have a look at the 2 ground posts located just under the rear of the tank , in front of the battery , lots going on in that area , possible a ground wire might be breaking loose .

Check this thread. He found that the wires from the bars to the neck had internal breaks causing an intermittent. It would explain all of your comm codes and probably the start switch code as well. Check really closely because the wire can be broken even though the insulation looks good. Sometimes you can feel a slight narrowing of the wire at the break point.

Good luck and let us know what you find

Finally after pulling apart the harness, checking every wire( none with breaks). I got the bike back together. I found 2 really corroded grounds, as well as 1 corroded connector on ecm. Cleaned everything and dielectric greased all connectors. So far do good... put about 100 miles one it yesterday and no codes.. YAY
