Another dumb question, why convert from boards to pegs? boards give me plenty of room to move my feet around.

I wanted to change it up. What’s more comfortable is different person to person. We’re not big long distance riders.

Glad I saw this thread. I just picked up a 2009 EG and was thinking about going from boards to pegs... but that mismatch would drive me straight nuts.

yea, they’ll do for now but if you want perfect symmetry I’d go a different route.

im working on getting a crash bar and pegs put on so the peg position won’t really matter becasue feet will only be there when I’m shifting and braking.

I don't care how long you ride for. I have Cyclesmiths Banana Boards on both bikes and they are the bees knees for all they room that I can move my feet around. To each their own. This is after the touring section of the forum where it is all about long distance comfort.

I figured the right one was further back. Likely to allow use of the stock brake pedal. Any further forward and the geometry would likely make it tough to use the brake and retain contact with the peg.

This likely wouldn't be an issue though if you had a lower, extended rear brake pedal.

I am running the extended lower pedal.

I did wind up going a different route. Just picked up and installed a Police seat, removing the spring to drop the seat bumpers to the frame rails. I no longer have to lift a foot to shift or use the rear brake, which was why I was looking at the peg conversion. Probably wouldn't work for everyone, though - the down side is the seat height makes it hard to get on the bike and I'm 6'.
