When will SG be due for major update?
There are those who do want a production factory job. Some do it their entire working lives. Some do it to get their feet on stable ground and later advance to more of a career path.
Based on my experience over the last few years a large portion of the incoming workforce come in with a sense of entitlement and it translates to their work ethic.
Didnt intend to hijack the thread so wont post again.
I get it that it's the character and that's what defines HD. But it's not 1960 anymore. You want to attract younger crowd you better step up. At the end of the day we consumers will benefit from this. As for me why do I ride HD ? After riding several bikes, I realized that I like big touring bikes. But at 5'5 and 130 lbs I need a reverse and HD was the only bike that has an after market reverse kit. And also has tons of after market accessories. Now I'm addicted to browsing through accessory catalog and buy something new every now and then, LOL
. I could get Goldwing but it's just little bigger. It took me a while to realize H-D is a lifestyle but its not a superior product by any means that H-D folks who ride it think it is. Its not even American made anymore. There are better and superior products that were developed in America and they deserve to charge premium. Definitely Not H-D. Not sure how much share Indian is taking but they are definitely making a statement. Just hope Indian succeeds and comes with a reverse. As a consumer competition is good. This is just my observation, I may be wrong.

Old schoolers will be screaming “That’s not a real Harley” and all that stuff.
IF it appeals to a new crowd…then you may see another lineup get it soon…maybe not the touring bikes yet…but possible the fat boy, Dyna…etc.
As far as Indian upping their game to make HD up theirs…yes, I agree. However, until they have anything of a dealer network like HD does….they’re side noise IMO.
I can’t ride more than 50 to 100 miles in any direction in Michigan without hitting a Harley dealer or two. Not nearly as many Indian.
That being said…their franchising model is simpler…. HD is HD only…period. Indian will pair up with other power sport dealers/brands (makes sense, since it is a Polaris) so they could spread out that way.
Sorry to get off topic OP…
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
SpaceX did that for NASA. Elon Musk created a cheaper reusable rocket to continue space exploration and now NASA is using their service to resupply ISS at a fraction of a cost. Sending people to the moon and other planets is now back on the table where 10 years ago it was never going to happen again.
Harleys competition Indian chieftain, challenger sits lower than street glide and still has 5 or more travel. Its Cadillac/Lexus plush ride. Just few lower it, does not mean they produce a model with crappy suspension. Time to change. I really wish Indian success because of that Harley will have to step up.
