Just picked up a set of Rush Slip-ons. I really want to install them so I can hear how they sound on my bike but don't know if it can hurt the engine if put them on without changing A/C and doing the HD download. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance...
You should have no problems. Just the pipes will not require an ECM change. BTW, downloads are not recommended. You'll be better off with one of the EFI management tools tuning - SERT, PCIII, V&H fuel pak, ThunderMax, Daytona TwinTec....
on an 07 you should be fine with a 2"' or smaller baffle according to RUSH. Those pipes are made right here in Indiana. We have been installing them without changing anythingat the dealership with out any problems.
Thanks longtimegone....I found that out today. I was told down load only good if you stick with SE set up. I was thinking about going with V&H fuel Pak. Heard they are easy to install and set up. Also easy to remove if you have to...unlike SERT. Don't know if Fuel Pak will match up with Rush mufflers. Does anyone know if it matters?
From what I understand you will not need to retune since the AC is still restricting how much air is flowing. I just did a stage 1 yesterday on my 07 SG with Ness Big Sucker, SERT and Rush 2.0 slip ons. Don't waste your money on a dyno tune as the #78 canned map works well. I will pay for the dyno tune after this winter and I do cams, heads and 103".
