OK, so after a friend just got banged up pretty good last week, I started re evaluating my riding gear. Half helmet went in the trash and replaced with 2 full face and a 3/4. I rode full face for years, so that was a no brainer.
My boots and jeans are OK and I always wear leather gloves, but I need a summer weight mesh jacket for some upper body protection. My leathers are too heavy for summer. Looking for some recommendations for a XXL that fits comfortably. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a Tourmaster Air Intake 4 and like it. I have had it for 5 years and it is holding up well. It is discontinued and not sure which one is similar. Fit is good for me (large). Mine has adjustable waist and sleeves, so can wear just a t-shirt or layer with the liner for cooler weather. I was going to order online but a local powersports dealer had several in stock and price matched online.
I like my HD Mesh jacket. It was mostly white, and came in a tall size. I wear it a lot, and it has worn well. I don't see anything similar to it on the HD website. Sometimes I wonder if the designers in their clothing department actually ride.
My jacket is like this. I bought it about 5 years ago.
H-D still has "air" jackets. I wear one 100% of the time in cool to hot weather. The jackets are actually cooler on long rides because they eliminate the sun load. Look for a more open weave for hot weather and armor pockets for the best protection. I believe the latest version is a silver/gray color. I actually have two a white one with an open weave for warm to hot and an orange one with a tighter less open weave for cool days.
I have a Tour Master Sonora Air 2.9 jacket, It works for me here in southern California, I was just on a 90 mile jaunt with a buddy of mine, from High 90's to low 80's today. There armor on elbow and shoulder area.
I have a Tour Master Airintake 4 and a Speed and Strength. As mentioned there Tour Master has the rain liner and insulating vest that zip in. Not sure which series the S.S. is and the jacket doesn't say. The T.M. is cut a little shorter in the front so it is less likely to hit the gas tank and It feels like it weighs less. Both have decent airflow when moving and both get warn as you sit. I'm on the bigger side and I've been happy with both.
