Curious as towhat owners of Street Glides think about the "Bat Wing." Do you think it is asuperior wind blocking fairing or just a device to store the stereo?
I'm going to test drive one next week. I'm close to ordering a Road King but feel it important to check out the Street Glide as well. Similar bikes, but yet very different! Would love to hear some input from owners.
I have always used windshields until my 2007 SG. I like the batwing much better and find it is perfect for me and since I am short (5'5") the short windscreen is fine. The batwing also protects the hands. I think it is much better than a windshield.
It BECAME much better wind protection after I added the 9" windshield. The shorty it came with felt as though it directed more wind directly into my face than riding my sporty with nothing out front.
rde, get the king. LOL If you decide that you need a fairing, you can always add an aftermarket one. The rk are really a versatile bike. IMO the best of any world!!

Very good point. With the RK you can go from naked to fully dressed in minutes. And it you like both equally, the RK is the way to go. That was my original plan until I rode the SG. It just had a better feel to me.
