Default Bought new handlebars

After today’s riding, I’ve had enough. My bike should be comfortable and it’s not. My lower back was killing me from leaning forward and I just wished I could lean back to stretch out and use my highway pegs.

I looked and looked, read **** load of posts, trying to find these perfect bars with additional pullback. I was torn between 10 inch and 12 inch. I like the 10 inch because they are in line with the fairing..12 inch looked kind of too tall to me, but little more comfortable, probably because they tend to have more pullback.

Sooooo…I found bars that split the middle! 11 inchers, with a whopping 12 inch pullback!

https://fatbaggers.com/motorcycle-parts/handlebars-accessories/shop-now/shop-now/1-handlebar-reducedreach-black-08-20-street-glide-models

I like that they are 11 inches, and 12 inch pullback gives me some flexibility. If it’s too much, I could always bring them a little forward to reduce the pullback.

I will report back after they are installed, but I am excited to finally make this bike comfortable like it should be.

I will be following this. I have the same exact complaint, I have to lean forward with my shoulders hunched over to reach the bars, and I don't even have t-rex arms. It's as if they designed the bars with the reach set up for someone 6 foot 5. I can barely lean back on my back rest, unless I completely straighten my elbows, which I can only do when on a long straightaway. Like you, I have researched this to death, trying to find the perfect height with the right amount of pullback, with having no way to visualize exactly how much pullback I need. I have been hesitant to pick a set, not knowing if they will work for me. It's too expensive of a project to just buy a set of bars and hope for the best. I am 5 foot 11, and I would say my arms are average length for someone my height.
Please post up some pics when you are done!

I’m 6’3”. Started with 12”, too tall for my old shoulders, and installed 10” KST Six Bend Kickers.
Perfect. In my avatar.

Same here! I have to REALLY stretch out my arm if I want to lean back. I don't have a backrest yet, but I am planning on getting one. My arms are normal length I would think! My Twin Peaks are way too forward. I think the pullback on them is only like 4 inches. I was riding yesterday and put my bike on cruise, sat back and put my hands where they felt comfortable. 10 inch pullback would be good, but with those being 12, it's a bonus. It gives me some room to play. Plus, they are not as wide as some of the bars that I saw. I would get all excited when I found ones that I liked, only to find out they were over 36 inches wide. Then the pictures would look like they weren't actually going to be that much different to what I have (judging by the distance from the speaker grills to the handlebars).

It's frustrating. It would be cool if dealers had something setup where you could sit on a seat and adjust the height and pullback of the bars to find out the best numbers.

I will be documenting this for those of you who are not sure what to get. Maybe that will give you some ideas and hope lol

Pullback risers with a pullback plate, this is what I went with after realizing how much the stock bars sucked.

Perfect. In my avatar.
I am 6’2” with long arms and also went with KST 10” six bend Kickers on my 2007 Streetglide. I love them. But you should also know that they are wide.

I'm 5' 11" and recently installed 14's. I also have a saddlemen road sofa which raised me up an inch or so. My shoulders are even with grips with the bar and seat set up I have. Bike is so much more comfortable now, wish I would have done it sooner.
