Does anybody use or know about the Dobeck system for 07 ultra classic. My dealer said this would help the heat problem If I did not want to spend BIG bucks on exhaust, a/c etc.
I'm pretty sure the Revtech DFO is the Dobeck. Also, I believe, the same unit can be found packaged as the Arlen Ness Big Shot, the Cobra Fi2000, shoot, seems there was at least one or two more. (Don't hold me to the exact models, I'm just going off the top of my head and it's either early or late)
In the various models you'll find better or worse methods of installing them. I believe the Dobeck (at least early on) required splicing into wires. Looking at the Cobra at their site the other day it sure looked like it had factory connectors. Shop around.

I've got the Revtech DFO on my 07 Ultra Classic with Rinehart True Duals and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner. The DFO works pretty good. I had to play around with it for a while to
find the sweetspot on the settings, but it does work. I got mine on eBay for about $179.00. And, if you have any problems or any confusion on the settings you can call Dobeck and they will
walk you through the settings.
For changing exhaust, air filter they work great. Had one on my 06 and know problems. Son had one on his 07-no problems. I just put the Arlen Ness Big Shot on my 07. I put K&N 3909 and Rinehart slipons on mine. According to George at Dobeck the one they show on there site for the 07 is the Gen II on these you have to adjust the screws. The Gen III(load demand & 02 sensor connectors)has the buttons you adjust and after my son put Gen III on his 07 it seemed simplier to adjust to me. Dobeck had the Gen III on there site when they first came out with me(thats where my son ordered his) but now you can only get the Gen III from there vendors. What George explained to me don't make sense why they don't sell that one anymore but whatever. The Arlen Ness Big Shot is identical to the one my son got from them back in 12-06 just has Arlen Ness label. Directions you get with it are the same. You have any questions about the TFI George has the answers always very very helpful.
I purchased a Kitech PowerPro fueler in the UK which looks (is?)identical to the Dobeck. I fitted thisto a07 Road King, following installation ofSupertrapp SE mufflers, which createda lot of exhaust popping. The difference in running was very impressive, the bike ran much smoother with almost no popping of the exhaust on overun.
You are able to programme an increase in fuel under different throttle senarios. The various default settingswork for most applications, I fully recommend this system for simplicity of settup and the ability to changethesettings if you decide on different pipes/air filter. Even if your bike is standard you will benefit by adding fuel using this device, it will help cool the engine.Another advantage is you don't need a PC, or,complex chartsto change the settings, just press a series of buttons to selecta series oflights and achieve the desired result.Mine connects in to the fuel injectors, and O2 sensors, all plug and play, no splicing of wires.... Good Luck, for the money you can't go wrong...
