I'm was thinking about putting a couple of cameras on my bike. I'm not a vlogger and don't want a gopro on my helmet, but I'm thinking it may be a good idea for documentation if/when something happens. Anyone have a good setup? I'd like it to be small and automatic, but have zero experience with this stuff.

I have nothing to contribute but I am interested as I have considered doing the same since I ride in stop and go city traffic on an almost daily basis.

currently watching a youtube video on Blueskysea. About halfway through it. Looking at Blueskysea's website, I don't see prices, but I'm just starting to research. I'll post back when I get some more information.

Ok, so in the limited research so far, i've found this youtube channel. TwoWheelObsession - YouTube If you go to his Playlists, he does some decent reviews on "dash cams" as well as other stuff. So, you have to scroll through to find the dash cams. Having spent less than an hour I like the Innovv K3. But again, I haven't spent enough time to make any kind of decision yet.

So, now after about four hours, everything points to the Innovv K3. It's water resistant, small, really good cameras, easy install. There are better quality video cameras out there, but I'm really just looking for documentation if ever needed. It turns on, off, and starts recording automatically. It has a few functions that I probably won't use like a microphone and remote control. But if I want to they are there. It also has a gps unit.

If you do get the K3, buy the largest sim card they have. Mine is set to record 15 minutes intervals. Here is one of my videos before I straighten up the camera.

I bought a Go Pro clone, uses the same mounts as a Go Pro so plenty of options. Originally mounted mine on the fairing using the windshield screw. Rik-Rak sells mount, but I bought the pieces online and built my own. Pulled power from inside the fairing and set the camera to dash cam mode. Turns on and off with the ignition. I only copy off the video if something happens I want to keep. For instance on one group trip the bike in front of me lost their saddle bag. We reviewed the video to see what happened, how she handled the bike, etc.

When I moved to the Madstat windshield I moved the camera to a Ram mount connected to the mirror bolt.

Camera was cheap enough that I don’t worry about it being stolen so it stays on the bike all the time.
