map updates are not free. boom updates are. some poi updates are also free. remember, that the most current map update is probably close to 2 years old. one reason why i use waze/google maps on CarPlay and not the hd integrated gps.
i'm guessing that this is with the older gt system, and not the gts. i just tried it on my gts and the address box and it is not like my truck at all. you just type the address into the box and it'll search for it. it doesn't blank out characters or anything. i tried a street address, and a 'fuzzy' search, ie. whataburger, jasper texas, and it behaved the same way.

You can update the map in your navigation system with the help of Boom! Box GTS Toolbox. Please make sure your Harley-DavidsonŽ BOOM Box GTS has software version MY19.18.35.00 or newer. It is a free-of-charge application that allows you to purchase, download, and install map updates on your navigation system. I just wanted to let you know I went to the site and it says free ?
awe forget that I just saw the free and after it does say CHARGE. My mistake

I just typed in the address in another state for a hotel and used a comma separater and it seemed to work fine.
example: 2345 S King Street, Mayberry, AR. Then hit search
I wish it was easier to use for out of town POI searches… and it might be if I messed with it more lol

I use both at the same time. HD's GPS for just visual and the Google Maps lady in my ear via my BT headset while listening to Spotify. HD will mess me up sometimes but I just follow GM lady and HD recalculates to get back on track. It's nice to pull up POI's on the HD while riding for things like gas, Denny's/Cracker Barrels, and Walmarts. It also nice to see the "ride time remaining" and "miles to go" on the screen as well. Someday I'll have a bike with Android Auto and go that route.........
