ABS Issue
Can be corroded , not plugged together good, poor terminal contact.
Have found a breaks in the wire itself , even when not through the wire insulation.
The hot and cold thing makes me think terminal contact as much as anything
The first place to ck is the visible wiring going to the speed sensor
Then I would go to the connector for the front speed sensor inside the fairing.
If it's in good shape clean it with a spray cleaner called Di Oxit
See if that helps it then go from there.
Just an example you can get it lots of places

I have a 2007 4.7L Jeep Grand Cherokee at 163K. Recently started getting "Random Misfire" code during really hot weather (95° or so). I changed the usual suspects like TPS, MAP and cleaned the MAF sensor as well as chased a potential defective coil but problem persisted. Finally got "Open Circuit Fuel Injector 5" so I changed the injector only to have the problem continue. A few occurrences got "Open Circuit Fuel Injector 5 or 3 or 4 and one occasion multiples of the three injectors. I changed the ECM and the problem went away. May not be your problem but if you can't nail it down through the normal processes it may be worth looking in to.
