I have had some issues with my steering starting to wobble pretty good right about 80 mph. At 85 it's getting a bit hairy. I checked the steering stem and seemed like it was good, maybe a little on the tight side. Is there a steering damper I can get. All my life a rode super bikes and always upgraded my damper.
Or is there something else I should be looking at? I live in SoCal, if I'm not driving at least 80 mph on the freeway I'm getting tailgated.
I have added swing arm stiffener already. And there is a swingarm bushing stiffener on it when I purchased it. Tires are new, but an off brand I never heard of that the previous owner installed. I have only owned this for a few months. Motor mounts I have not checked.
I had the same symptoms on my '00 FLTR at around 100,000 miles. Installed these bushings and the bike still steers true and holds a correct turn in a sweeper 70,000 miles later. (I used only the swingarm bushings. The smaller support biscuits transmitted a bit too much vibration IMO.)
