My 02 EG Classic leans at a 13 degree angle when parked and on the stand. Seems to be too far to me. Is this normal, makes it difficult for passenger mounting.
could jiffy stand be worn or bent ???
I would think they are getting on from the left side, also your backrest would give them a problem getting on. If you are capable, have them get on first with backrest out of way and then you mount and lift bike. But yeah, you should mount first. Whatever makes it easier. I have seen the passenger stand on the rear peg, or floorboard to mount, just be ready for the extra weight when they mount. But that trunk might be in the way of them swinging a leg over.

I agree with loading the passenger after you are on, and the bike is up.... my wife mounts by stepping up on the pass footboard first, then throwing her leg over the tour pack, or if loaded for travel, passing her foot behind my back....
But..... If you must load the passenger first, try turning the handlebars all the way to the right before lifting off the jiffy stand... either before the pass mounts (preferable), or after you mount and before you lift the bike..
I've always found my baggers to be easier to lift off the jiffy stand, when the wheel is turned all the way to the right. I do this when loaded for travel and/or on an uneven parking surface that makes the bike lean a little more than usual...
Handlebars all the way to the right, seems to change the angle of lean (not a lot, but some), plus as you pick up the bike, the front end is "rolling up" on the front wheel, rather than against the sidewall (hope that makes sense). It should make it a little easier to lift the bike off the jiffy stand with the passenger already mounted...
Give it a try, it may help you out...

when you put the stand up, does it fold up completely and rest against the bottom frame of the bike?
If yes, then your stand is fine
if passenger is mounting the bike first, she should be mounting from the right side, if she is mounting second, the bike should be upright and usually I see women mount from the left, though it's the same thing to mount from the right
My will get on after i get the bike upright and jiffy stand up. She will put her left foot on the passenger foot board and step thru over her seat and right foot to the passenger footboard.
