I have a Long Ride Shields on my King and it works awesome. It is a dark tint and although I look over it, I get very little buffeting. A recurve is the only way to go.
I'm a fan of the entire line of Freedom Shields, I believe they're the best made. The Freedom Shields windshields are thicker than some other ones, with edge polishing that's beautiful and a re-curve doesn't create the distortion some other brands have. Also, they have a very liberal "return policy" (as long as you don't remove the protective covering when you take a test ride).
Best of all, they manufacture their touring shields in ONE INCH INCREMENTS, so there's seldom a fit issue. I recommend their "Wide Touring Shield". I suggest you check them out......BTW, they offer a discount for members on this Forum if you ask them for the code. Always best to call them and discuss your needs.
all of this...I really like my freedom shield. Ive had it for about 4 seasons now with about 40k on it. It only has a few very minor scratches on it from rocks or whatever hitting it. I like that its thicker than most other brands. I would definitely buy one again when its time
Freedom Shields for me. I'm think the Long Ride are comparable although I've never had one and I bought a Clearview for the Switchback which was good but I should receive my 3rd Freedom Shield today I ordered for the wife's Heritage. I'm on my 2nd for my King. I broke the 1st one by pushing too high on the shield when putting back on the bike. Totally my fault. If there is a problem John at Freedom will make it right. The ONLY issue I've had was Freedom shipping to a Minnesota customer with the same name as me which was handled promptly and at a cost reduction to me.
I have a klock werks 19.5 billboard, i love it, it actually does as they say, it has the recurve at the top and also the lower each side is formed to push the front end down, ive had clearview and lrs, did like them both actually still have them, tried the billboard flare and what a difference, first ride with it i could feel and hear the difference, you ask me what? hear the difference? yes i could actually hear my front tire on the road, its not a great force but you can feel the difference right away, really gave the front end a more stable feel, starting to think about getting a new one, this one is 5yrs old now, still in great shape just a couple scratches, just think those rocks could of hit me but were stopped by windshield, didnt crack just scratch,
I went 2" shorter --Clearview Recurve 17.5" so that I could easily see over it...I changed out a seat too so that factored into the height decision.
I get no buffeting --been up to around 85mph so far. The wind is easily pushing 3"+ over the top of the screen, so it's doing what it's supposed to do.
Assuming you are wanting taller so that you can look through it?
Don’t want to look through it, was just thinking an extra inch in height would get rid of the minor buffeting I’m getting. The one I ordered is the same height but has the recurve. It’ll be here Friday so we’ll see how it works and I’ll post my thoughts. Thanks again for all the replies.

I totally agree as I’ve owned the LRS and switched to the Klock Werks and what really sold me was the larger pocket of air around you and your passenger.
if you ride with a passenger, they will love you for running it!
