I didn't say capitalism was evil, and not a single one of you guys can say I lack intelligence because of a misspelled word. I read one of your corrections on one of the first pages, and the guy used the wrong "to" in the sentence where he bashed a guy who spelled something wrong. How hard is it to remember that when you are using "to" to define the extent of a given thing it becomes "too", as in a different word? Back to the meat 'n' potata's, how fast are them there sportsters, the ones you can't drive on the street? I saw that drag VRod on the HD site, it looks like a nice bike, and is certainly quick. It isn't street legal, but thats worth it because the numbers say it would barely lose to a stock Jap liter bike that the guy rode to the track.
The new buells had to go with an Austrian engine so that they could have a large displacement V-twin tha makes power. and it does rev to 10000 plus... 10,500 redline. also, Honda made a sportbike with a V-twin, RC51 was the bikes model. it was pretty fast too. also, its not just the weight, its the design. I've seen guys on 650 lb ST jappers with fully loaded hard-bags and the OL on the back keeping up with little 400 pound 1-up 600s in corners on the street. Thats a sight to see. And sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean the drag strip. By the way, what are sportsters running in the 1/4 mile? I'm curious
True, but look at what the parts are made of, not cast aluminum. Tard. You don't wanna imagine what a Harley would cost with the high end parts in those engines. And, try doing it air cooled. What you are arguing is basically, "why can't a diesel keep a with a Vette? I mean, it's got a bigger engine." Two seperate beasts for two seperate purposes. That, and you're a lame troll. I have to admit, I used to be a troll on the net. Then I turned 12....
I've finally figured it out why Tommy418 hates American Iron so much! He overheard his Momma when he was little (2 years ago) talking about how she started out going WFO on a Bukkake 125 and how she can't do anything less than a Bukkake 1000 now, but her goal is to go all-out on a Bukkake 1500.

You are right, I wouldn't want to imagine what Hardley would charge if they used high quality parts, it is already crazy enough with the low end parts. Again, how fast are the Sportsters doing the 1/4 mile? I've heard that some of the mild ones are hitting close to 10 Sec. And like I said, HD is supposed to be going liquid cooled, they finally realized what Porsche took over half a century to learn. It's a shame, because the radiator and hoses are gonna hurt the one thing HD really has going, and thats the looks.
I have to confess that after owning and riding the **** out of a great variety of machines I've ridden only Harleys for the last 15 yrs. I do sit on the porch and reminisce about knee draggin', screaming 2 strokes and 3rd gear wheelies out of corners. Gave that sh#t up after 3 laydowns in 1 year convinced me I didn't have the reactions to handle it anymore. Sold my hot little RD400 w/clip ons, rear sets and 10K redline and haven't looked back. Had a couple of choppers in the '70s and have come full circle with my Evo chopper. Don't get near as crazy and avoid traffic with a passion. Live in the Tx boonies and ride the great local roads to my hearts content. Testesterone and adrenaline are wonderful drugs but also dangerous. Hope we all live thru the effects.
