Default Drag Specialties Shock Standard vs HD

Does anyone have any experience with the difference between these shocks. Just picked up a new Ultra Limited and I am dialing it in for me. On the last UC, I had the stock 13s with a 2 inch lowering block. This time, I decided to go with 11 inch DS HD adjustable shocks.
They are extremely stiff, even after adjustments.
My question is, is the 11 inch this bad over the 13s on lowering blocks or would the standard 11s fix my problem?

The HDs are for 300lbs and above. I consistently ride 2 up and sit around 280 with the Old Lady on. Add our crap and we're over 300lbs. Thinking my safe then sorry on the HDs might hve been a mistake?

Update: Got word back from the manufacturer that the standard should fix my problem. The HD 300lb recommendation is only the beginning of the the spectrum for preload.
Purchased the standards after the call so I'll advise if they fix the issue so as it may help someone else.

Yeah, was going to say the HD version of any shock is usually way too stiff unless you are circus size...glad you got it sorted.

. I just installed a set myself, I went with the 13 inch...shortened the shock to 12-1/2 inches and bottomed the spring preload. (All three adjusting nuts are almost touching) The shorter you go, the less shock travel you have.
