Default Lowering an Ultra

Planning on lowering my '05 Ultra with:
12' HD Profile Low TouringShocks or 12" Progressive 440 or 12" progressive 412
or a lowering kit from Solow or White Bros.
What is the difference between the 440 and 412?
Any complications with lowering kits? Rubbing, strength, etc...
How far will the kit lower my ride?
Any suggestions and all comments welcome,
magnoliarunner

i use 12" HD low shocks......the only complaint is when i lean my bike, the peg will always scrub the road......so i cant lean more extreme angle....
but it looks cool with low shock ....

I can tell ya that I tried the solow kit on my 05 RKC .. didn't care for the way the bike rode after that.

Ended up switched to a pair of Progressive 412's (the heavy duty ones) with progressive fork springs. The 412's lowered the rear exactly one inch. I know from experience that the HD low profile shocks only lower about 3/4 of an inch.

The ride with the progressive 412s was really good, wether solo, or two up with saddlebags and tour pack loaded down.

I guess the best thing I could say is that I liked the 412s so much that I am putting a pair on my 07 Ultra as soon as I can save up a few bucks!

I lowered my Ultra with the harley lowering shocks an front springs. The rear shock didnt lower my bike enough so I went to the progressive 440 11.5 inch Heavy Duty shocks. I really like the ride of the progressive shocks over the Harley air shocks! I also had Mad-x re-model my seat and lower it as well.He does a great job! It feels good to be able to plant my feet securly on the ground
