I saw leather overpants on the internet and wonder how people like them? They look like they would be uncomfortable on hot days, but great when it is cold out. Not only because they are leather but because it seems you wear them over your jeans. Anyone have an opinion on them?
I have a pair that I bought from one of the advertisers on the site, BransonWholesale.com. They are well made and use a thick leather with a nylon liner. I like them for cold morning, but I find that they bunch up in the riding position and after a while start to become a little uncomfortable where they are putting pressure on my leg. I haven't tried riding just wearing the leather pants without jeans on underneath. I'm guessing that I'd probable be just fine without the jeans so I may be buying a pair of regular chaps for when I would be wearing pants underneath, i.e. going to work or somewhere where I don't feel like wearing leather pants around.
I have thought about a pair, as I really don't care for chaps. But when I did a search of leather pants, I got a bunch of gay websites. Gays wear leather pants ??? Oh well, I don't get to wear leather much due to hot weather....but I think the leather pants would be great.
The "Over pants" are what I wear when weather permits. They are as easy to get in and out of as chaps. Around here they are called "Chap pants". They restrict your movement a bit more than chaps, but it's worth it to have certain areas protected from the cold wind. I wore mine to a local HD shop, and during the 30-40 minutes I was there, I had 4 people come up and ask me where I got them at. Surprisingly, a couple of them thought that chaps looked gay? I'm sorry, but I cant see either one lookin' gay on my big old ****!
I have chaps and overpants. If I could only buy one it would be the overpants. They are just as easy to put on over your jeans, keep you warmer and dryer if its raining. If it is hot switch to chaps.
Someone metioned the use of a socks earlier. The only suggestion I can make is to always put the rolled up socks in the front of your pants. It doesn't create the same raection if you slip them down the back,
