Default Found this while changing the clutch cable

This was in the cover when I pulled it off. I straightened it a little bit to see where it might have gone. What is it exactly? Bike was riding fine before the cable broke.

Can't tell from the pic if it's metal or plastic. Who did the last oil change? Looks a bit like the tamper band from the cap on a quart of oil.

I would say it is a lock washer. I have used those types on battery cables to help keep things snug. But where that came from.... I have no idea.

Looks like a clip that goes on the end of a shaft as a retainer

Looks like the remnants of a failed clutch pushrod bearing. Here's another example.

Failed muffler bearing retainer clip?
Looks fairly delicate, perhaps a emblem retainer clip that fell where it is not supposed to go?
