A great Replacement Windshield!
In a continuing effort to find the best windshield for my 2021 SGS, I think I have purchased most everything out there.
I wanted a balance of style, wind protection, and reduced wind buffeting.
Ive tried the Klockwerks Flare (in all the various heights), the H-D Windspliter (the 4 and 7?), the F1 shields, the Clearview shields, and even some various eBay no name shields.
I am 57, and have a 30 inseam, so all the shields I did try were under 10 in height, as I did not want to look through the windshield, and I did not like the style of a tall windshield on my SGS.
I finally just custom cut rectangular holes in the stock 4 shield to compensate for the air vacuum behind the shield. I found that this dramatically decreased the wind buffeting. More than any of the aftermarket shields I had before. The looks of it was somewhat okay - but I was not that happy with it.
Then, just searching around the web, I stumbled across National Cycles windshields. Others may be very familiar with them, but they seem to be not as well known in the Harley circles.
They just released 3 new shields for the SGS (I think a few months ago).
I purchased the FlyBoy and the BadBoy, to see the style and how they would look on my SGS.
Then I tried them. For me, by far, both shields dramatically decreased wind buffeting. The best of any shield Ive had before, and better than my stock windshield with the custom cutouts.
I really loved the look of the shields as well. Both the FlyBoy and the BadBoy did about the same for decreased wind buffeting, but I decided to keep the BadBoy. The FlyBoy has longer side wings, that seemed to really vibrate in the wind. For me it was a bit distracting.
What I really like about the shields is that they have some proprietary coatings that make the shield very scratch resistant, and harder than normal shields.
Also, National Cycles takes a different approach to deflecting wind. Instead to just pushing the wind up and over the rider, their shields deflect the wind to the sides, around the rider. I find this to be a much better approach to handling wind buffeting. In my mind, it seems better to push the wind to the sides (like a boat through water).
Anyway, Ive attached a link here in case any of you are interested

This may seem like an advertisement for their windshield, but I have no connection to them, was not paid by them, no did I receive any free stuff from them.
Just wanted to share this excellent (in my experience) windshield with the group.
That said, I did have an issue early on where it began cracking at one of the screws for the cross member, and they replaced it, no questions ask, just sent a pic of it.
I like them and their service, and products.
Here’s a few points…all of which are my opinion.
All shields have a “proprietary element” to them, whether it’s shape, coating, exotic material, process… unicorn eyelashes…. Lol.
I think they’re fugly…but I’ll take fugly and function over looks, to a degree.
Once you have the correct height windshield, the majority of the wind that creates buffeting comes from below than it does over the shield.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I've considered the MadStad. I'm planning on some longer IBA's next summer - and I was BSing with someone that had one on his Road Glide. Great reviews from him.
It's different, and I don't hate the look. Many would. But have a look - if you're not set.
I've had the Harley-Davidson curved ones and they're alright. Maybe I'm fixing a problem that doesn't exist... ha ha
